Esplendor hosting lunch for staff & teachers

Dear all,

Esplendor parents shall be hosting lunch on Monday 12th November 2012 as a small token gesture to the staff and teachers of Kolej Yayasan Saad for having persevered with our children throughout their formative years.

We understand that most Esplendorians would actually be arriving a lot later thus this lunch is more for the staff and teachers to partake just before most will leave for their respective end year break.

For those closer to Melaka or will be arriving during the said lunch period (12 noon to 2pm), you are cordially invited to attend the said lunch which will be held at the Cafeteria.

Thank you.

Peperiksaan Sijil Pelajaran Menengah 2012

Monday 5th November 2012

This is it guys....

The BIG ONE...the culmination of all your hard work, tears and perspiration over the last two years...nae...the last 17 years (as your parents would have it!)...

As Melon would again fret, this however is just another step in what would hopefully be a wonderful, magical and interesting future for each and everyone of you.

Life is have all been well prepped and the combination of your dedicated teachers, your parents doa' and your own unequalled commitment would insha'allah bring honour to one and all!

These final weeks at KYS would mark your passage into adulthood - those of us parents who are still around (al-fatehah and a thought for those no longer with us...) marvels at your progress and development - from the cocooned precious seven year olds entering primary schools around the country into confident and fine young ladies and gentlemen of Kolej Yayasan Saad...soon to walk out of the college's gates into a world full of challenges and promises.

Do not worry my dear Esplendorians, the last five years will be forever be part of your DNA! Look around your mates, they are and will be your best mates for life! The kind of friendships forged and kindled in the common cauldron of your developing years...shared maggi baldi's, beds(?), fears, aspirations, laughter, "crushes...", Mr Rama's 6.30am classes.... :-)

As parents, we know you have done your very best, we trust you would have given it your all...and that is all that we wish for dears....not to waste the opportunities and potential the Almighty have bestowed upon you.

Remember your roots, be grateful, be true, brave and sincere, be EXCELLENT!

Love always,

Esplendor Parents

Bank Negara Kijang Emas Scholarship - 2012

Bank Negara Kijang Emas

THE Kijang Emas Scholarships have been awarded to five outstanding students this year.
Bank Negara governor Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz said they not only excelled academically but are also “all-rounded” students.
“The selection criteria for the Kijang Emas Scholarship Award is very stringent.
“For this year, we received more than 2,900 applications for the Kijang Scholarships and from this, we shortlisted 24 candidates for Kijang Emas based on not just their Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) 2011 results but also their level of involvement and participation in co-curricular as well as sports activities,” she said at the Kijang Emas Scholarship award ceremony on Thursday.
The assessment, consisting of individual and group interviews were conducted by Bank Negara’s panel of interviewers.
The five are :
Turga Ganapathy, Kwong Kien Yi,  Wardah Shafiqah Mohammad Fadil,  Adnan Zikri Jaafar and  Pavithran Maniam.
The Kijang Emas Scholarship Award is a prestigious scholarship introduced by Bank Negara Malaysia in 2005, reflecting the central bank’s commitment to directly invest in the development of talent for the nation.
“What differentiates the Kijang Emas award from the Kijang scholarship is that the recipients of Kijang Emas are given the flexibility to pursue any field of study at internationally renowned universities of their choice.
“The Bank does not impose any bond onto the recipients, with the exception that they must return to Malaysia and serve the nation,” she said.
To date, 34 top SPM performers have been awarded the Kijang Emas scholarship, and are pursuing their studies in areas as diverse as Medicine, Dentistry, Genetics, Biochemistry, Physics, Engineering, Law, Psychology and Architecture in top universities around the world.

Turga who obtained 9A+ in last year’s SPM will study environmental engineering,

Kwong (10A+) chemical engineering,

Wardah Shafiqah (9A+ and 1A) geophysics,

Adnan Zikri (11A+) Arabic and Islamic Studies,

Pavithran (10A+) medicine.

Interesting isn't it....Esplendorians....CARPE DIEM!!!!
